Lindos - Rhodes Island |

Lindos is on Rhodes, the major island of the Greek Dodecanese group, between the Cyclades and Turkey (only 20 nautical miles off the Turkish coastline). Rhodes is historically probably the most interesting of the Greek islands. The knights of Rhodes, the Colossus, the Acropolis, its Museum make it a wonderful destination for those who wish to explore. The island has for centuries been a cross-roads between East and West. Rhodes has been developed by the tourist trade and therefore we have specialised in one town only (Lindos) which for us despite being heavily visited by tourists has maintained its unique charm and fascination. The beauty of Lindos is its narrow streets and its beautiful Captains Houses with walled gardens. We are in a unique position to be able to offer for rent not only our own house but many of the privately owned Captains Houses. In the high season there is night life in Lindos and excellent restaurants but all the houses we offer allow the occupant to retreat into a private world away from the bustle of the town. The houses are historically interesting and four of them are featured in "Greek Style" published by Thames and Hudson, others were not published only because the owners wished them to remain anonymous. Whilst they vary in their level of luxury, they are all full of antiques and artefacts carefully collected by the owners who have restored the houses, amongst whom are musicians and writers. We can arrange the hire of a small boat in Lindos and a car from Lindos, Rhodes town or from the airport. |
